Community Support Services
Having a mental illness can make coordinating support services particularly challenging. Adventure House helps members access the best quality services in the community, bridge the gaps between these services and integrate them into a robust safety net. We access Community support services through the work units of the Clubhouse. We provide this assistance through other members and staff with whom the recipient member has relationships.
These supports include, but are certainly not limited to, help given to members in acquiring and keeping affordable and dignified housing, quality medical, psychological, pharmacological and psychiatric services, assist with government disability benefits applications/meetings, coordination of transportation and advocacy in the community.
Our mandate is to support those living with mental illness. History shows with the Clubhouse model and community support there is a significant decrease in hospitalizations and/or incarcerations. Community Support Services work with members and provide a holistic view by increasing better physical and behavioral health.
